Swirl Flaps for 4-Cylinder Engines (BMW M47)

Hello, do these valves also fit this car model? I noticed in the specifications that they are listed as being suitable only for models manufactured between 2004 and 2006. Thank you very much; I look forward to your reply.

I’d like to leave a review too, nearly five years after fitting them to my car. They look exactly as they did on the day they were fitted. I haven’t noticed any improvement in how the car drives, as the original valves were in perfect condition to begin with; I had them replaced as a precaution, and I’d have no hesitation in recommending them!

Vreau sa las si eu o recenzie dupa aproape 5 ani de cand le am pe masina. Arata exact ca in prima zi de montaj. N am simtit vreo imbunatatire in sensul cum merge masina pentru ca si inainte aveam clapetele originale in stare perfecta, le am schimbat preventiv, recomand fara probleme montarea lor!

It’s exactly as I thought… I mean, no difference at all… :-)) over 2,400 revs. Up to that point, though, it runs well; it pulls much more smoothly and starts to perform better from 1,600, meaning it feels much better in exactly the rev range where I mostly use it. I have to say, even the smell of the exhaust fumes has changed – no joke. What someone wrote in a review, that it used to be like a 1.9 SDI, isn’t true. But there’s definitely a difference; I’m glad I decided to fit them. If I head out of town, I’ll check – I reckon it’ll affect fuel consumption a little bit too. Thanks!

Este exact cum m.am gandit...adica nici o diferenta.... :-)) peste 2400 rotatii. Pana acolo in schimb merge , trage mult mai linear,incepe sa mearga mai bine de la 1600,adica se simte mai ok exact in plaja de turatie,unde.l folosesc in mare parte. Trebuie sa zic,s a schimbat si mirosul gazelor de esapament,fara glume. Ce mai scria unu in review ,ca inainte era ca un 1.9 sdi,nu e adevarat. Dar clar este diferenta,ma bucur ca m.am decis sa le montez. Daca o sa ies inafara orasulului o sa verific,cred ca o sa influenteze si consumul intr.o mica masura. Multumesc!

Hello, I’d like to fit them myself – could you perhaps give me a brief guide on what I need to do? I should point out that my flaps have been cut and don’t have any plugs. Can they still be fitted if I’ve cut the flaps on the inside?

Buna ziua, as vrea sa le montez eu, daca iti putea sa imi spuneti un mic tutorial la ce ar trebui sa fac. Precizez ca, clapetele mele sunt taiate n au nici dop. se mai pot pune daca am taiate clapetele din interior?

Good afternoon, I’d like to share my experience from the perspective of someone who has tested the method – which is heavily promoted even by some mechanics – of deactivating the intake valves. Removing them clearly leads to a drop in engine torque at low revs, down to 2000 rpm (even above that, the engine no longer has the same oomph as before), but having had the chance to drive on a long journey, this lack of torque – and I believe even power – is particularly noticeable when overtaking, where I was used to being confident in what this make can deliver (provided it is properly maintained), that is, that continuous build-up of power and torque across the entire rev range. With the throttle valves deactivated, this is completely absent; it runs like a 1.9 SDI. I refitted the intake valves after receiving the new kit, and ‘life’ returned to my car’s engine, without countless software modifications and deactivations. I go by the principle that “it was designed this way, so it should work”. Thanks for the kit – a very good idea, much appreciated by the BMW community who care about this brand.

Buna ziua, Impartasesc experienta din punctul de vedere al persoanei care a testat si varianta foarte promovata chiar si de unii mecanici de a anula clapetele de admisie. Anularea acestora duc in mod evident la scaderea cuplului motor la turatii joase, pana la 2000RPM (chiar si peste motorul nu mai are aceea vlaga de dinainte), insa avand sansa de a conduce pe drum lung , aceasta lipsa de cuplu si cred chiar si de putere se resimte in special la depasiri unde in mod obisnuit eram invatat cu siguranta ce il poate oferii acest brand (in cazul in care este intretinut corect), adica sa fie aceea dezvoltare de putere si cuplu continua pe toata plaja de turatii. Cu anularea clapetelor acesta este lipsita cu desavarsire, functioneaza ca un 1.9 SDI. Am remontat clapetele de admisie dupa primirea kit-ului nou, "viata" revenind in motorul autoturismului meu, fara n-spe mii de modificari de soft si anulari. Sunt pe principiul "asa a fost proiectat, as trebuie sa functioneze". Mersi pentru kit, idee foarte buna si apreciata de comunitatea BMW care ingrijesc acest brand.
