The ReDo Solutions Story — How a real problem created a real product
RE DO Solutions tells the story of two friends passionate about cars and how they turned a problem into a product.
It all started in 2010, when Daniel and Valeriu arrived in Bucharest and ended up sharing the same dorm room while pursuing their dream of studying at the Faculty of Transport, part of the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, specializing in Automotive Engineering.
Their friendship continued after graduation. By recommending each other for various professional opportunities, they eventually came to work together.
Daniel's BMW, which he always wanted to repair himself, was the trigger for this product. The joy of buying the car was overshadowed when he discovered that his BMW was one of the vehicles affected by the well-known issue of swirl flaps in the intake manifold.
Since his own car was facing the same problem, he started doing research. The only solution he had found at the time was to remove the swirl flaps, but that did not discourage him. On the contrary, it motivated him to work together with his friend on a solution that would not affect the way the system worked.
That was the moment when they put everything they had learned at university into practice and began developing the part that would become the solution for Daniel's BMW and for many other owners facing the same problem.
Nothing was left to chance in the design of this product. They chose to use stainless steel for durability and moved away from the idea of using screws, ensuring that no component of their product could fall into the engine intake.
Once the product was ready, Daniel's car became the main test vehicle and the proof that the system fulfilled its intended purpose. It did not promise extra power or miracle upgrades, only the correct and reliable operation of the system.
The journey was not easy. The first customers did not come overnight, and it took a lot of work to gradually build a name in the industry and make the product known.
That effort continues today. Daniel and Valeriu want their solution to reach as many people as possible, and they are constantly working on developing new products.
